Vivek Das

Christian greetings to all in the sweet and marvelous name of Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
I am Vivek Das and have been involved in the ministry along with my wife Rekha and two sons Utkarsh and Ujjawal in Nepalganj. God is using me marvelously and it is through the grace of Lord Jesus Christ that my ministry has been blessed tremendously in different parts of Nepal.
I have walked through different paths, places and have involved myself in various types of God’s ministry to see His kingdom being established and people being transformed and brought into Jesus’ grace and love.
However, the task in not yet done and I have many more miles to walk in order to accomplish that has been laid before me and receive a crown in the eternity.
My story of knowing Jesus as my Savior
I was born and brought up in a believer’s family but since my father was not much interested in prayer or church services we too had the same effect on us. We occasionally went to the church especially on special occasions like Christmas and Easter.
Growing up in this kind of atmosphere I too did not have any personal encounter with Lord Jesus and lived a very simple life but without a savior. However, my mother was a devout follower of Lord Jesus therefore; she regularly went to the church and consistently prayed for a change in the family.
The Lord touched my heart when I was 16 years old and happened to attend a convention which was held in the nearby place where our family resided. The message of Pr. Suresh the main speaker for the night really touched my heart. His message was a calling for the laborers into His vineyard to cut the plentiful harvest.
I was deeply touched and after returning home I kept pondering upon the message. Gradually I too felt the burden in my heart and received Jesus as my personal Savior and dedicated my life for His ministry.
Thereafter, I joined a Bible college in Allahabad to gain more knowledge about the Bible and become an effective missionary. After the graduation Jesus put burden in my heart for Uttar Pradesh itself and I started pastoral ministry in various churches Jaunpur, Balrampur.
My Venture into Nepal
Gradually God started putting burden in my heart to reach the unreached places in Nepal. In the year 2000 God opened a way for me to come to the Border area of Nepal called Rupeidia. There I started my ministry as an assistant pastor of Assemblies of God.
Three year I worked as an assistant pastor and after this I started working with an NGO who had their vision among Drug addicts and Female Trafficking. Three years went by ministering among them as a Program manager, bringing awareness among the people and also introducing Christ Jesus to the lost people through this project.
Meanwhile I got married to a Nepali girl Rekha and after this God opened ways for me to come to Nepalganj District of Nepal and since then me and my wife have been involved in different types of Ministries.
My achievements as a Pastor and Social Worker
God has used me tremendously to touch and transform people and communities through my 23years of ministry and have enabled me to add several souls for His kingdom.
When I was working in the NGO Jesus enabled me to restore 30 drug addicts into normal life and among them 8 people have now become His servants and are serving the lord in different parts of Nepal.
My main focus was among Madheshi people group who are largest unreached people group in Nepal. Through my ministry 45-50 people have now become baptized believer of my church in Nepalganj.
I could also establish a tuition center among this people group to educate the children and shape a better tomorrow of their kids.
At present also around 40men an 11 women are being trained and equipped in God’s word who will become an agent of transformation in Nepal.
Through His grace along I could establish 40 churches in the Nepalganj and its nearby areas. He has been using me marvelously and I believe that in the near future many more churches will be established and His kingdom will flourish in Nepal.
My future Goal
In the nearby future I desire to establish 150 churches in Nepalganj and its surrounding.
I also desire to provide clean drinking water, sanitary facilities and other necessary things to the unreached Dalit village of Nepal.
Moreover, I desire to do a holistic ministry by equipping men and women of His kingdom. Along with the sharing of Good News, I desire to address social issues of poverty, Castecism, and many other social evils of the society.
However, I believe that this is just the beginning of my ministry and I have many more milestones to walk. Therefore, consistently pray for His grace upon me, my family and the ministry I am involved in.
